Hot pod yoga is kinda like doing yoga in the womb. It’s cosy, super warm and totally relaxing, which is surprising as this really is a work-out.
Set in pop-up pods at a temperature of 37 degrees Celsius, this take on Vinyasa yoga concentrates more on making you work hard, rather than being a spiritual experience, although the session does end with a meditation.
Great down-tempo music and dimmed lights aid relaxation in the inflatable cocoons (which can comfortably hold up to twenty people), as the heat (and it really is warm) loosens your body to enable your muscles to stretch fully, and encourages your body to sweat out toxins.
We loved this experience, it was a totally different style of yoga, taught by a great instructor. At only £12, it really is a great way to lift flagging spirits – you will leave feeling refreshed, relaxed and revitalised (and a tad sweaty, but you gotta take the rough with the smooth, right?).
